ARLIS UK & Ireland Annual Conference 2011
ARLIS
UK & Ireland is an Art Libraries Society based in the National Library
in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. This annual conference, now
located at the University of Leeds, is one of the biggest and most
succesful events of the Arlis Calendar. The programme will be packed with
talks, seminars, visits & workshops designed to educate and
professionally develop delegates. Included in the programme, a selective
trade exhibition with relevant publications will be organised. The
artists magazine GAGARIN was invited to take part in the
exhibition.

GAGARIN at MAES & MATTHYS GALLERY
GAGARIN #23 will be presented by its editor, Wilfried Huet, followed by a
public conversation between Stella Lohaus and Vaast Colson on the subject
of his writing "Desperately trying to be a writer. Pursuing the Tanger
tradition, an exerpt" for the same issue. GAGARIN #23 is out now and
comes with special texts, written by Marc Nagtzaam, Fabienne
Audéoud, Christine Meisner, Vaast Colson, Mekhitar Garabedian,
Raymond Pettibon, Javier Téllez and Abraham

The Solo Project 2011
The Solo Project was set up by Paul Kusseneers Gallery (Antwerp). For the
third year running this clearly defined fair will feature "Solo Shows by
some 60 selected galeries" at the St Jakobshalle in Basel. The Solo Project
Fair 2011 coincides with the Art Basel Fair. GAGARIN was the only art
magazine invited to take part in The Solo Project with an exclusive private
booth.

The Book Affair
GAGARIN was invited to take part in The
Book Affair, a two day independent art publishers fair that will take place
in Venice at the occasion of the four opening days of the 54th edition of
the Venice Art Biennial (1-4 June, 2011) with the aim t gather some of
today's most interesting independant art publishing projects. The Book
Affair is organized by Automatic Books, the independent publishing house
based in Venice and run by Tankboys, Elena Xausa and Tommaso
Speretta.

Since 2010, GAGARIN is supported by the Museum of Contemporary Art S.M.A.K.
in Ghent, Belgium. Thus GAGARIN entered the living collection of the museum
and will join - in complete independence - forces with the museum. To
celebrate this unique agreement, S.M.A.K. is pleased to invite you to a
special event with the presentation of the GAGARIN project and a public and
in-depth conversation between Wilfried Huet, the editor and publisher of
GAGARIN and Philippe Van Cauteren, director of the Museum. At this unique
occasion the exciting new issue, GAGARIN #22, with special contributions by
Joseph Kosuth, Paolo Chiasera, Matej Krén, Tintin Wulia, Alicja
Kwade, Roman Signer and Eulalia Valldosera will also be

PA/PER VIEW art book fair 2011
GAGARIN will take part in the
PA/PER VIEW art book fair at the high profile arts space Zabludowicz
Collection in London. Founded in 1994 by Poju and Anita Zabludowicz, the
Zabudovicz Collection brings emerging art to new audiences and supports
arts organisations and artists. This dynamic and growing collection spans
40 years of art from te 1970s to today. PA/PER VIEW will take place during
the 3rd year of London's pre-eminent annual exhibition of recent graduates
from Goldsmiths College and the Royal College of Art titled "Testing
Ground". PA/PER VIEW will bring together 26 internationally selected art
publishers.
